The Lies of Anxiety

There are many times when we believe the lies of anxiety. I mean the crippling kind — the kind that makes you believe you are not enough, that you can’t do it, that you’re unworthy, that you don’t have the support, or that no one will watch or listen.
All of these are questions without answers — mere thoughts that can cripple your growth. But I want to encourage you: God’s Word reminds us that we don’t have to be anxious about anything. The solution is to trust Him completely with every thought and to believe what His Word says.
Here are a few scriptures that have helped me:
Philippians 4:6–7
6 Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. 7 And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace which transcends all understanding, that peace which stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus] is yours.
1 Peter 5:7
7 Casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection and watches over you very carefully].
Matthew 6:25–34
25 “Therefore I tell you, stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted) about your life—what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27 And who of you by worrying can add one hour to his life? 28 And why are you worried about clothes? See how the lilies and wildflowers of the field grow; they do not labor or spin,29 yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory and splendor dressed himself like one of these.30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31 Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ 32 For the pagans eagerly seek all these things; but your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also. 34 “So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
When in doubt, pray your way out. 🙏
